„Ostatni uśmiech” to druga część z cyklu „Śladami przodków” @paulinaziarko_horrory i muszę przyznać, że ta część jest jeszcze lepsza niż poprzednia.
Dobrze znana nam trójka, czyli Nikodem, Chryzostom i Aleks powracają, aby stawić czoła nowym demonom, ale tym razem profesor ma w tym konkretny cel — musi odnaleźć pieczęć, która może uwolnić go od klątwy i tym sposobem uratować życie. Akcja skupia się przede wszystkim na pokonaniu kózytki. To potężny demon, którego bardzo ciężko znaleźć, a co dopiero pokonać. Niestety niewiele źródeł coś w ogóle o nim mówi. Po drodze oczywiście nie zabraknie innych potworów i duchów. Jak widać, atmosfera historii dalej utrzymana jest w klimacie grozy. Opisy i zachowanie niektórych istot potrafią przyprawić o ciarki.
Ta część podobała mi się nawet bardziej niż poprzednia, bo nie było tej rozdziałowej schematyczności. Dostaliśmy ciekawą fabułę, która świetnie wciągła i nie dała mi spokoju, aż do momentu, w którym dowiedziałam się, kto został tajemniczym demonem. Główni bohaterowie nie stracili charakteru, a Chryzostom dalej został moim numer jeden. To, że wszystko dzieje się w polskich miastach to też dla mnie ogromny plus. Dzięki temu łatwo można sobie wyobrazić te wszystkie słowiańskie potwory.
Już wiem, że będzie kolejna część i wiem też, że muszę ją przeczytać, bo zakończenie, jakie zaserwowała nam Paulina Ziarko, wywołało niezłe zaskoczenie. W głowie od razu mam burzę pytań: co, jak i dlaczego? Dosłownie wielkie oczy i otwarta buzia.
Jeśli duchy i demony są dla Was nie straszne, to polecam Wam tę serię. Koniecznie sięgnijcie po pierwszą część i „Ostatni uśmiech”.
